Quantifying Effect of Post-Tensioned Bars for Precast Concrete Shear Walls

چکیده

A hybrid concrete wall is made up of a traditional reinforced with post-tensioned technology. Recent research has shown that (PT) shear walls have wide range advantages when it comes to resisting lateral forces and moments caused by earthquake loading. To explore the PT behavior subjected seismic load, models were augmented various material models, including KCC, CDP, Winfrith for 2D under pushover analysis. ensure overall forecast was qualitatively acceptable, models’ performance compared experimental findings. Then, modeling approach implemented 3D in order predict structural responses wall. The well-validated finite element ultilized estimate effects bars on capacities precast

Precast, Pretensioned, Post-Tensioned Concrete for Bridge Decks

The problem of concrete bridge deck deterioration on many of our newer as well as older bridges is severe, somewhat perplexing as to cause, and difficult to solve. Furthermore, the cost to highway agencies for their repair, and the cost of delay to the highway user, can be extremely large. The use of precast, prestressed concrete for bridge decks is a con cept of construction or reconstruction...

Seismic Displacement Demands for Hybrid Precast Concrete Shear Walls

This paper presents an analytical investigation on the peak lateral displacement demands of “hybrid” precast concrete panelized shear wall structures under seismic loading. The hybrid wall structure investigated uses a combination of mild [i.e., Grade 400 (U.S. Grade 60)] steel bars and highstrength unbonded post-tensioning (PT) strands for lateral resistance across horizontal joints. The analy...

Experimental Study and Modeling of Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened by Post-Tensioned External Reinforcing Bars

The utilization of unbounded external reinforcing bars is one of the strengthening methods used after loading stage and before failure. The method has been used in different forms to strengthen members of reinforced concrete structures. To investigate the effect of utilization of post-tensioned reinforcing bars in this method of strengthening, a number of reinforced concrete beams was tested. S...

Comparison of Hybrid and Emulative Precast Concrete Shear Walls for Seismic Regions

This paper compares the measured lateral load behavior of a 0.4-scale “hybrid” precast concrete wall test specimen with the behavior of a second precast specimen designed to emulate monolithic cast-in-place reinforced concrete shear walls. Both walls have the same overall geometry and are constructed by placing rectangular wall panels across horizontal joints. The lateral resistance at the join...

Comparison of Solid and Perforated Hybrid Precast Concrete Shear Walls for Seismic Regions

This paper compares the measured lateral load behaviors of two 0.4-scale “hybrid” precast concrete wall test specimens – one wall with solid panels and the other with perforated panels. The test specimens have the same overall geometry and utilize a combination of mild [i.e., Grade 400 (U.S. Grade 60)] steel and high-strength unbonded post-tensioning (PT) steel for lateral resistance across hor...
